The Cyr School was another of the thirty-nine country schools established in the 1890s–early 1900s within Pincher Creek’s commercial trading area. Enrollment at the Cyr School District Number 2018 began in August 1909. The school was located eight miles south of Pincher Creek (NE ¼, S2, T5, R30, W4) on land formerly owned by Mac Hebert. At over 5,000 feet, the Cyr could boast the highest elevation of  rural schools.
