November 11 annually marks Remembrance Day when we honour the valiant contributions of our Canadian Veterans in preserving peace in this often troubled world. Many paid the supreme sacrifice in losing their lives in official combat. Those who survived did so under very difficult wartime conditions, returning home to contribute to Canadian peacetime state of affairs. This articles reflects back on the frontier connections between the Pincher Creek area and the South African War of 1899 – 1902.
